Privacy

Your info isn’t band gossip.

Skinus is operated by Byteomen LLC. This page explains what this website collects and why. Questions or deletion requests: chris@skinus.com.

Trying out? Here’s what we keep.

If you apply, we collect the name, email, instrument, location, playing links, optional bio and files you send, your answer to the eligibility question, and your consent to contact you. Do not include private information you do not want the band to receive. The photo is optional. Only site administrators can access submitted applications through the website. Uploaded files are stored outside the public website folders and are not published in the media library.

We use applications to review musicians and contact applicants. Applications remain stored until an administrator permanently deletes them or you request deletion. Ask us to delete yours using the email above; we may need to confirm the request comes from you. Deleted records can remain in restricted backups until those backups are removed. Sending an application does not subscribe you to a mailing list.

Play loud. Don’t wreck the site.

The player requests temporary access to audio. The server uses technical information, including your IP address, to limit abuse and troubleshoot requests. Server logs may include request time, URL, IP address and browser information. Application failure logs use a request reference and error category, not your answers or uploaded files. Background playback is optional and starts only after you choose to play music.

Cookies and the other sites you click.

WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies for sign-in, security and shopping sessions where those features are used. Google Site Kit is installed with analytics integration; Google services may receive usage and technical information when their scripts run. Browser cookie controls and content blockers can limit tracking. Links to streaming services and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

Buying our shit.

Checkout needs contact, billing and delivery details to process and deliver purchases. Stripe processes payments; Printful fulfills shirts. They receive information needed for those services. Skinus does not need your full card number in a band application or by email. Store terms, shipping and returns explain purchases.

Who can get in.

The website and its restricted backups are hosted using DreamHost infrastructure. Administrators and service providers may access information as needed to run, protect and support the site. We do not display application files publicly. Contact us if you believe information was submitted without your permission.
